PEPSI TATE 1965 - 2007 Goodnight and God bless our dear old 'Boy' We are absolutely devastated to bring you the news that our beloved friend and Tigertailz Bass player PEPSI TATE lost his battle with pancreatic cancer today. Pepsi passed away peacefully at 10:30 this morning, Tuesday 18th September 2007, in Holme Towers cancer hospice in Penarth Cardiff. Pepsi's wife Shan and close family were with him. Words cannot describe how we feel right now. We're in bits and will miss him so much. Goodnight Boy - we'll see you again soon fella. This programme was sold during the recent UK tour to raise money for the Marie Curie cancer hospice who cared for Pepsi so well in his final few months. The programme is a 12 page booklet which includes pictures of Pepsi and his artwork, personal tributes written by top Rock press journalists and a story of Pepsi's life and achievements. Click Here WE THANK YOU UK TOUR October/November 2007 We'd just like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who came out to see us on this UK tour over the last few weeks. You've all been truly amazing and we're really humbled by your fantastic support. Not only did many of you travel for the shows but some travelled many times to different shows just to be there. For this we are very grateful and hope we were worth the effort and expense. We also managed to raise a load of money for Marie Curie Cancer Care which we will donate in the coming weeks. All of this was down to you great people giving money to those who need it most. You can all sleep well knowing you've done your bit.. Thanks also to Y&T who were fantastic with us and to all their fans who gave us a great response. We'll take some time to talk and think about where we go from here . But one thing we do know is that all you great people have given us a reason to not let this band and Pepsi's memory fade away. It's been like a whirlwind over the last few months and we now need to take some time to remember our friend 'Justin Boy Pepsi Tate Smith' and sleep well knowing we've done as much as we possibly could in the short term to pay tribute to him. Let's just sit here a while and remember him and enjoy the moment. Kim, Jay and Matt TIGERTAILZ New Tailz DVD 'BLAST' Pepsi was working on the 'BLAST' DVD right up until he passed away in September. We hope to get the editing finished and release this DVD as a futher tribute to him. But it will take time as we have to pull in other people to help. Despite playing the Gods Of Metal show, Pepsi's been in and out of hospital a number of times recently in his fight against Pancreatic cancer. He continues to keep in good spirits despite his illness and we're all hoping the US doctors can offer him a full recovery. We're hopeful Pepsi will be back with us to play the UK shows with Y&T. PREVIOUS NEWS ON PEPSI'S CONDITION: "Following a series of MRI and CT scans an abnormal growth has been discovered in the area of Pepsi's pancreas. A biopsy will be performed on the 9th of February (the day before the St David's Hall gig), and news of the results will be made available as soon as possible. Pepsi would like to the thank the many fans and friends who've extended their best wishes, and looks forward to getting back to work with the band later this year". The Wildside Festival, Nottingham, 18/11/2006 - Review Well we'd just like to say we had a fantastic time playing the Wildside Festival last Saturday. It was really great to see so many long lost friends and make many new ones. You guys were fantastic and Nottingham really is like a second home to us. We tried to stay around for as long as possible and meet all of you. Hopefully you all got your stuff signed and pics taken and let's hope it's not to long before we meet again. It was also a huge relief to see Pepsi make it through the gig. Let's hope there's many more to come. It's The New Video FALLING DOWN Fast on the heels of the release of BEZERK 2.0 comes the first 'official' TAILZ promo video. Today sees the release of FALLING DOWN, the first TAILZ promo video in over 10 years. The video was Directed by Pepsi and visually compliments the fantastic tune of FALLING DOWN with people falling off buildings, cars, bikes etc. This video should get airplay on the Music TV Channels (MTV, Kerrang, Scuzz etc.) in the coming weeks but all you TAILZ MANIACS can start writing/calling them now to request it. The album is available via European & UK retail and Web outlets - NOW!!! We are just agreeing some LIVE shows and as soon as these dates are confirmed we'll get them added to the site, hopefully in the next few weeks. In the mean time, the US release on WTO Records is looking good for September as planned, we'll provide a definite date for this ASAP. The US release of B2 contains extra content in the form of an interview where we discuss how each B2 song came into being. This interview is exclusive to the US and not included on the European release.. It's taken us nearly 3 years to get this album out and, without your help, we couldn't have done it. Kim, Pepsi, Jay, Matt Tailz Rock In Spain WOW - what a fantastic show we had at the Lorca Rock Festival, Spain. You guys were totally amazing to us and we thank you all so much.. We were honoured to be asked to open the main festival stage and were almost in tears at the sight of 10,000 people singing our songs and going MENTAL - just totally amazing.!!!. We're already planning our next shows in Spain so we'll see you all real soon... Tailz Win Name Dispute After 2 years of legal action we are pleased to let everyone know that the dispute involving the TIGERTAILZ name is now finally over! Most of you know there has been a dispute with former members of the band regarding ownership of the TIGERTAILZ name. However, what most people don't know is that this involved a very long legal process with the UK Patent Office - this being due to former members of the band registering the TIGERTAILZ name as a Trademark in 2004 without our knowledge. This process recently reached it's conclusion on 30/05/06 via a formal hearing where the Patent Hearing Officer upheld our opposition to the registration of the TIGERTAILZ name. We're not going to overplay this great newz but we'd just like to make everyone aware that the legal process is now complete and we were successful. The TIGERTAILZ name belongs to us! The TAILZ played their first ever show in Sweden on Friday 9th June and really ROCKED the place. With a truly awesome 40 minute set the guys set the Zeppelin stage alight and certainly played their part in a truly awesome festival - a big 'thank you' must go to the promoters and all involved in Sweden Rock as they were amazing - many thanks. The band would also like to personally thank everyone who came to the signing session during the day and later to the show.
