TIGERTAILZ RELOAD ‘THRILL PISTOL’
Legendary UK glam metal troupe Tigertailz are delighted to be re-releasing their most recent album ‘Thrill Pistol' via Universal on iTunes. Much sought after due to the unfortunately timed demise of its original record label, ‘Thrill Pistol' has become the hard-to-find glam metal album of the last decade, with copies trading hands on the internet for silly amounts of money. Now the wait is over.
Originally released in August 2007, and packaged with the previously unreleased 1992 album ‘Wazbones', ‘Thrill Pistol' was hailed by fans and media alike as a magnificent return, one that cemented the comeback Tigertailz had begun with 2006's ‘Bezerk 2.0'. ‘Kerrang!' magazine described it as ‘quite the best thing they've ever done' and invited fans to ‘kindly hail this rejuvenated band for the time-defying devils they are'.
‘Thrill Pistol', released through Sanctuary Records, was an immediate success - tough, punk-driven carnage like ‘Brain The Sucker' tangling with swaggering, anthemic trailblazers like ‘Long Live The New Flesh' and ‘Natural Born Animal'. It saw the band in constant demand across Europe and beyond, returning them to some of the world's biggest stages in support of bands such as Kiss, Whitesnake, Europe and Dio.
Sadly, despite strong sales, the absorption of Sanctuary into major label Universal meant ‘Thrill Pistol' suffered a short shelf life, effectively disappearing from view just when things were hotting up. Now Universal has decided to make the music available again - meaning that fans who missed out first time can catch up on what might just be the best Tigertailz album to date.
"We've never made an album quite like ‘Thrill Pistol'," says guitarist Jay Pepper. "Everything came together, the songs were some of our best and the whole thing sounded massive. Equally importantly, it marked the last contribution of (bassist) Pepsi Tate, who sadly we lost to cancer just a few weeks after it was released. ‘Thrill Pistol' is a great tribute to Pepsi, and it also sums up where we are as a band both now and going forward. We are overjoyed that it's getting the release it deserves."
Take aim and fire - ‘Thrill Pistol' is back.
